Awana Missionaries: Supporting the Church Inside and Out
Awana missionaries share local churches’ zeal to turn their communities upside down for Christ—starting with young people, the most open age group to the gospel. Our missionaries’ calling is to support churches in their assigned region in the task of impacting the lives of kids and families … both inside and outside the congregation.
Awana missionaries fulfill four key roles in their service to churches:
Children’s Ministry Advocate
Serves as a resource of ideas and expertise for pastors and church leaders.
Promotes child evangelism and discipleship.
Encourages outreach to children and families, effective parent and leader training and standards of excellence for your Awana program.
Church Consultant
Builds relationships with church leadership to understand and identify specific ministry and training needs.
Influences the health of the church to ensure the highest impact in the community.
Leadership Developer
Trains and mentors volunteers and lay leaders in local churches.
Team Builder
Forms and manages a team of volunteers that conducts Awana special events and church leader training.
Awana Missionaries Are Faith Supported
As a servant resource to churches, Awana missionaries are fully faith supported. They look to God in faith for the provision of financial, spiritual and other needs. These needs are then communicated to churches and individuals so that others can embrace their vision and support the missionary prayerfully and financially. Such support enables missionaries to assist the local church in reaching kids with the good news of Christ and building bridges to the children’s homes.
God blesses this biblical model of partnership in several ways. In addition to the necessary finances, the missionary receives more effective prayer and a network of ministry partners. Members of a missionary's support team gain God’s blessings for being faithful and engage more fully in a life-changing ministry.

Our Need and Budget
For the last four years we have had the privilege to serve the local churches in southern Wisconsin by promoting and supporting the Awana ministry. We do this to help churches produce effective clubs; that can produce equipped leaders; that can reach out to the 1.3 children currently living in Wisconsin
As Awana Missionaries, we are responsible for raising 100% our ministry and personal expenses. We receive no salary from Awana nor do we receive any commission from the products purchased from the Awana catalog. We are grateful for the churches and individuals that have recently agreed to begin supporting our ministry, but sadly some have also discontinued theirs. During our time here as missionaries our support has averaged about 80% of what we need to meet our budgetary obligations.
